We make our structures with natural alkalis, minerals, and vegetable fibers. Lime-bound structures cure into solid limestone by adsorbing CO2 from the atmosphere. They possess a calming density that we feel with our whole bodies.

A modern fibrous lime mix has none of the downsides of yesteryear. These are heritage finishes which are crack-resistant and insulating. They repel mold, termites, and cockroaches. They are more fire resistant than drywall assemblies, and can be as insulating as foam, without the health hazards. No animal fibers are used in our process.

Natural alkali walls and ceilings use transpiration to keep our spaces cool on the hottest summer days (we also offer active radiant cooled ceilings to augment this effect). It acts as a moisture buffer to provide interior spaces with much-needed humidity during dry winters. It suits our bodies to live in these spaces, because the walls and ceilings reduce stress on our skin barrier. Our layered multi-coat limestone walls are engineered to wick moisture away from wall cavities and wooden framing, in order to extend the lifespan of your home.

The microstructure of lime that allows for crack resistance and insulation is also one that dissipates excess noise from both outside and within. This is in contrast to resonant drywall panels, which merely attempt to reflect acoustic energy (including right back into the room).

Lime mortar and plaster walls are the difference between a home being ‘chateau-style’ and true chateau.
